What Started It All

I was studying Culinary Arts, planning to pursue savory cuisine, but everything changed the day I decorated my first cake.I baked cakes for joy. Gave them away. until someone asked to buy one.That moment turned passion into purpose. While balancing full-time work, school, and starting a family, I realized I wasn’t just baking, I was creating connections.

So I built the space I couldn’t find. And one cake became many,growing alongside my community, becoming part of weddings, birthdays, first communions, and everyday celebrations.

Founded on December 25, 2020, by Chef Hilda Vera-Terhark, Holy Sins began as a home cake studio created to transform emotions into sensorial experiences, making dessert far more than a sweet ending.

From the start, it has been a quiet rebellion against mass production and disposable beauty. What began as a holiday gift away of vintage-style cakes became a leap of faith. Today, Holy Sins is proud to be a local reference in this aesthetic, present in weddings, birthdays, and everyday celebrations.

Holy Sins is a private home cake studio, operating under a Cottage Food License. Every dessert is made to order and crafted from scratch, right in our kitchen, where business and family grow side by side.

Small in scale but big in heart, measured in blessings, joy, lessons, and the beautiful connections it creates, always in God’s perfect timing.

A Signature Style

It began with a floral set of cupcakes, once called “aristocráticos” by a Venezuelan friend, and became what I now call Modern Vintage: Lambeth piping reimagined in buttercream.
Inspired by cake artists worldwide yet shaped by my own journey, this style reflects my roots, my dreams, and the stories carried from one recipe to the next.
